Referee of the Day: Maria Mahar

Maria Mahar is first year level 1 official with the Pownal Minor Hockey
Association. She is a goalie with the Pownal Peewee AAA Red Devils and will be attending the Quebec Peewee AAA International Tournament next week in Quebec City. Her parents are John and Frances Mahar of Stratford. She shows a keen interest toward being an official and is really interested in improving each time she goes out on the ice.
Maria's quote:
"I enjoy being an official for hockey because I’m a big hockey fan and I think it’s always good to get a different point of view on the game. I think it’s really fun and exciting to go on the ice and help the game be fair for both teams. I’m always excited to be able to get a game, whether it is novice or peewee!"
Referee of the Day: Jacob Palmer

Today's referee of the day is 12-year-old Jacob Palmer. He is the son of Mike and Bev Palmer of Conway. Jacob is a level 1 official with the Tyne Valley Minor Hockey Association. Jacob enjoys being a part of the game, and tries to make the game safe and fair for both teams.
